GUILHÖM is a singer, musician and songwriter from Montpellier, France. His music is polymorphous, drawing on influences from folk, rock, pop, hip-hop, film and world music…

On stage, Guilhöm guides us on a melodic journey from intimate folk shores to rock territory, navigating between acoustic and electric guitars, loops and samples, lo-fi piano and analogue keyboards, French or English, according to instinct and emotion.

Initially, the project was born of sensitive lyrics and nostalgic guitar notes: intimate songs accumulated over the years, over which the shadows of Elliott Smith and Nick Drake hovered, with a cinematographic and travelling atmosphere.

Little by little, these stripped-down tracks have been enriched by new, chiselled arrangements, a variety of musical colours, new moods and sensations.

2016 saw the release of Behind April, a debut album recorded in a twelfth-century Romanesque church by Infernale Machine and at Mirador Studio in Corconne: eleven tracks like so many trails to explore, featuring guest artists Gaelle Costil (cellist to Miossec, Général Alcazar, Laurent Garnier, Dimoné…), Lucie Folch, Sam Burguière (Les Ogres de Barback) and David Darmon. The album is self-produced by Yaldise Music (a company created for the occasion).

In 2020, Ouessant, a piano instrumental, was released on digital platforms. Quite nostalgic, it marks a new instrumental and cinematic turn.

At the end of 2023, for the new album Trouble Fête, Guilhöm reinvented himself and did everything independently: perfecting the arrangement of the compositions by integrating even more different instruments, learning the recording and mixing stages. The result is 12 even more instrumentally rich tracks. (6 with vocals and 6 instrumentals).

Trouble fête was released nationally by Inouïe Distribution and was accompanied by several video clips. It was well received by critics and audiences alike.

Guilhöm is also the graphic designer for his albums, having been involved in photography and illustration for many years, occasionally designing record sleeves (Les Croquants, etc.), websites for musician friends (Camille Simeray, etc.) and concert posters (Festival Phazz, etc.).

Solo but not solitary, Guilhöm is nonetheless eager to collaborate, appearing on numerous projects with varied aesthetics: vocals on the third album by La Meute Rieuse (chanson) in 2014, remix of My Tiger Side in 2017, participation in the Lodger collective for the album Dry Water in 2021, music for the play Les Tigres by the Collectif V.1 in 2023, vocals on a track by Bran Terror (electro dark) in 2022, rap vocals on a track on Hubwar ‘s new album (bass music electro) in 2023.

Guilhöm has shared the stage with Shannon Wright, She Owl, Peter Piek, Will Barber, Nika Leeflang, The Durgas, Dr Eggs, Department, The Chase… notably in Paris, Barcelona, Girona, Nîmes, Marseille, Montpellier… (programmed at the Nuits Couleurs festival, Phazzz festival, théâtre du Chai du Terral, Secret Place, Antirouille, théâtre de Pierres etc.). ) Guilhöm sails through different worlds and artistic practices, carving out a singular, polymorphous and melancholy creativity.
