Cévennes and Lodève summer concerts.

Here comes summer !
Hello ,
I hope you’re all well and enjoying the end of spring! Just a quick note to let you know that I’ll be playing two bucolic dates this summer:

> I’ll be playing on Saturday June 21 for the fête de la musique in Lodève (France), just before Iaross. Their musical universe really deserves to be discovered, so if you don’t know them yet, this is the perfect opportunity! The evening will be an opportunity to celebrate music in a friendly, festive atmosphere. The full program is available here.

> On Saturday August 02, I’ll be taking in the fresh air and height of the Cévennes at the Filature du Mazel, Val d’Aigoual. The filature is an old silk stocking factory built in the mid-19th century.
Today, it has become a place entirely dedicated to multi-disciplinary creation (live performances, visual arts, music, etc.). I’ve been invited there by Raw Power Records, La Filature’s associative studio, and will have the great pleasure of playing with Telemac and Woodwives.

Who knows, maybe another date will be added to this summer program… I’d be absolutely delighted! By the way, don’t hesitate to let me know if you’d like to invite me to play at your place or in some other unusual venue.

“Rien n’est moins Sûr” Video

A second video clip has just been released to accompany my new album Trouble Fête. It was directed by Ludovic Criado for the track “Rien n’est moins sûr”.
Ludo is a very old friend of mine, who was my bass player in the band Ipecacuana. He has specialized in the production of music videos for several years now. It was a real pleasure to work with him again! Especially as the shoot was quite epic.
This clip is a journey, a wandering, a quest. We were reminded of McCarthy’s “The Road” and Agnès Varda’s “Sans toit ni loi”.

Once again, I’d like to thank Supakriss from Phazzz Production (invaluable technical advisor), as well as Richard, Nino, Julien and my son Abel, who appears in the clip.

Springtime gigs

The next two weekends will be a chance for me to play solo amongst the books.
On Saturday 27 April, I’ll be crossing the border to play in Figueres in Spanish Catalonia, in a ‘Taverne Librairie’. It’s possible that I’ll also be playing the next day, Sunday, at noon, for a last-minute concert in the same region. (To be continued).
And on Friday 03 May at 6pm, I’ll be in western Hérault, at the Maureilhan media library, for a showcase.
I’m always on the lookout for new dates, so don’t hesitate to suggest them to me, or to spread the word.

It’s not a trivial exercise to have your face photographed. You look at yourself in the mirror every morning, so much so that you come to know every characteristic, every flaw. We learn, as best we can, to come to terms with the physical transformations that time inflicts.
Virginie Nourry and I wandered along the shores of the “singular island”, towards the salt marshes. From lines to horizon, we drifted towards fallow areas, wastelands and dump sites, until we came to this number 23, which has been following me around for years.
The magnificent black and white of Virginia is steep and soft, as contrasting as life itself. It’s a bit like William Klein’s New York and Mario Giacomelli’s Italy. Virginie loves Italy. Apart from her first name, is it another reason why her musical project is called La Pietà? Go and listen to her sing, it punches you in the gut and warms your heart.

New album, New website

Why a website ?
At a time when social networks are such a handy way of communicating, who visits websites any more?

I’ve been doing a lot of different things for a few years now (music, photos, graphic design) and this is finally a way of reporting on them, of giving a slightly more complete overview of all these activities.
For the release of this new album ‘Trouble Fête’, I needed a new website and it’s with great pleasure (but also with a little delay) that I present it to you today. You’ll find my various projects, past and present. Feel free to browse the pages and come back from time to time, I’ll try to complete this site gradually.
